Adding three apartment floors above an existing retail space on a busy block of the main retail street of the Brooklyn Heights Landmark District, this project proposes to prefabricate six identical one bedroom apartment units as steel and concrete modules that will be installed over the course of a weekend. Laser cut stainless steel solar screens shield the windows and terracotta panels the color of the local brick complete the flat areas of the faŤade. Elements of scale and texture tie this building into the neighborhood despite the buildings unabashed modernity.
